January 2015 HOTW Bloghop

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my Heart Consultants from all over Canada showing you their projects. The Hearts of the West team was founded by Nancy Klein.
This months challenge is the Heartstrings paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked by Nancy Klein.
If you came from Donna Thomson-Digby's Blog then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

This is a standard 4.25" X 5.50" card.  This paper pack has so many great patterned papers but I only could fit one on the card. A mini album is coming soon with the other papers! (I just didn't get it finished in time for this blog hop)

I used  Mini Valentine (M1052). The woman and saying are from a Hostess only stamp set. Contact me if you are interested in more info on hosting a gathering with your friends.

Your next stop is Linda Pekrul's Blog.
Thanks for joining us this month and come back next month to see what creative projects we can bring to you! Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment.

November HOTW Blog Hop

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

This months challenge is using the Yuletide Carol Paper Pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

If you came from Terry Ann Diack's Blog then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

This pillow box was created using the Art Philosophy Cartridge and Cricut Craft Room to make the box big enough to fit my husband's Christmas gift.  The box is made from Yuletide Carol paper.  It was then decorated using a little doily and the Yuletide Carol Compliments.  The Yuletide Carol Compliments are a coordinating stickers that adhere to the box well enough to stick even when the box is full!  The flowers that I used were left overs from the Frosted Assortment.

My whole family is getting a gift wrapped in a pillow box this Christmas. I pre-made the pillow boxes to prepare for a class I will be teaching in December.  When my husband's gift arrived this week, it didn't fit in the prepared pillow boxes.  This Blog Hop encouraged me to use Cricut Craft Room to make a slightly bigger box.  Now I have one less thing to stress about before Christmas!

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my Heart Consultants from all over Canada showing you their projects. The Hearts of the West was founded by Nancy Klein.
This months challenge is Scaredy Cat paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.
If you came from Jackie Vandaele's Blog then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.
I am excited to be back blogging for this Blog Hop!  Halloween is so close and because of this challenge I now have cards ready to send to my Mom, my best friend and one for my only dayhome kid.  And the cards are ready in time to mail!

I used the Scaredy Cat Bulk B&T Paper to make each card:

I used stamp set Halloween Greetings (D1605)  to make this card. I used the Creative Insider guide for Scaredy Cat as inspiration, so this card came together very quickly and yet it is the one card that is the favorite among those people I have shown my cards to!

For this card I used Frightfully Fun (B1453) to create the 4 adorable characters on the front.  The fussy cut Frankenstein on the bottom used Trick or Treat Sweets  (B1460) because the Skull in Frightfully Fun looked funny to me on this card, so the Skull got used on the next card.....

This last card uses Trick or Treat Sweets (B1460) plus the Skull from the previous card.  I used my new CTMH ShinHan markers to color in the characters on this card and the Frightfully Fun images too. These markers made the stamped images become Characters! It was coloring the images that made me realize that the Mummy image was actually a cute Ninja!

This weekend I had so much fun making these cards for a few of my dear friends!  I used my new ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers and they were amazing to work with.  I never had the chance to own Copic Markers before but had seen many beautiful images colored with them.  My new ShinHan markers are similar to Copics and I now understand all the excitement!  ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers are available through CTMH on Aug. 1st, 2014!  As a CTMH independent consultant, I was able to get the entire set of the new markers!

You are invited to come to my Open House on Wed. July 30, 2014.  This Open House is a chance to get a sneak peek at the new Annual Inspirations (idea book) and play with these amazing markers.

Let me know if you need any more info!

Welcome back to the Hearts of the West team blog hop July edition! If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my Heart consultants from the Hearts of the West and team members from all over Canada and is founded by Nancy Klein. This month's challenge is a celebration of our beloved Country's Birthday!
A fun little fact...Canada is turning 147 years old. This month our challenge is using red and white.
This month is a challenge for sure, we are able to use the basic color pallet for accent colors. Grab your coffee, sit down and join us on a journey of creative paper crafts from the Heart!
If you came from Julie Kerr's Blog You're in the right place, this is a go around blog so you can start anywhere you'd like. The full list is at the end in case.

This month I decided to create a card using the color challenge:

I created the  card base from White Daisy cardstock.  I used the Free to be Me paper pack for the B&T paper and the red cardstock.  I stamped only with Ruby ink.  The sentiment is colored using the cranberry, holiday red and citrus leaf water color pencils.  Everything else used is pictured below.

Your next creative stop is Linda Pekrul"s Blog

Thank you for joining us this month and we all look forward to next month's challenge. We all enjoy your comments and questions, show your love and leave one for us....Contact your local consultant for any of the products shown, or to join us. Your welcome here!

Welcome to The Hearts of the West Team blog hop. June Edition!

This month's color challenge has been picked by Nancy Klein. It's soft color pallet perfect for this time of year. The project is open to our choice to keep it simple.
You're in for a treat, so grab your self a hot chocolate, sit down and hop with the Hearts of the West ladies!

If you came from  Corinna Murphy - http://corinnacraftfun.blogspot.ca/2014/06/junes-hearts-of-west-blog-hop.html   then you're on the right track. This is a circular blog hop, if you get lost or want to start at the beginning then you can find the list down below.

This bird house was created using the CTMH Artiste Cartridge. My paper stash is very low right now.  The roof of the house is from the Lucy paper pack and was inked.  The circle behind the bird is from my only piece of sky blue paper.  Everything else in this project was made with plain white card stock and was either inked, sponged or colored with alcohol markers in order to complete the color challenge.

The details:

The tiny circle behind the Artiste cut bird is actually sky blue paper edged in sky blue ink.  Like I said, every thing else is originally plain white card stock.   I was most impressed with how well the Artiste cut leaves look when heavily sponged with olive ink and coated with Liquid Glass.

The little window was actually another scrap piece of sky blue paper with each piece inked by sponging olive ink around the edges.   Everything else on this side of the bird house was created on the Cricut  Artiste Cartridge, the roof is a piece of Lucy paper, the rest were on white card stock and then colored.

I am so glad that this blog hop motivated me to create this adorable bird house that now looks great set on my fire place mantel!

Thanks for stopping by!
